A magnificent Edwardian country house, Persie is set in the glorious Highland Perthshire countryside surrounded by its own farm and estate. Its winding salmon river and backdrop of the majestic Persie hills make it the ideal hideaway. Situated on the edge of the Cairngorms National Park at the entrance to Glenshee, it is a wonderful holiday location for large groups and families.

Enjoy both traditionalism and luxury in this wonderful country home. Persie is in excellent decorative order whilst retaining its homely ‘feel’ and it lends itself perfectly to both intimate groups and grand entertaining. Up its impressive wooded front drive and amongst its beautiful mature gardens, Persie offers a multitude of activities for guests of all ages. It boasts marvellous bay windows and iconic turrets, with fires laid for you everyday in each of the reception rooms. Comfortably sleeping as many as 24 guests, Persie is available to let for week-long or shorter lets as required.

The House retains its original Edwardian features throughout including wood panelled walls in an impressive hallway and beautiful antique furnishings. The drawing room with its open fire and large bay window overlooking the garden, has a comfortable elegance, whilst the study provides a cosy retreat in which to spend some quiet time sitting in front of a roaring log fire. The dining room, which can comfortably seat 18, is a fabulous setting for a formal dinner.

The ground floor holds the Drawing Room, Study and Games Room, all with open fires. The magnificent Games Room provides a wonderful space for less formal entertaining and relaxation and includes a billiard table, table tennis and television. The Conservatory is calming space to sit down with a good book with views of the surrounding gardens.

The generous Kitchen, with a large adjoining pantry, is fully equipped with AGA, double electric oven, gas hob, and two dishwashers. If cooking is a daunting prospect, feel free to enquire regarding catering arrangements and/or additional housekeeping support.

Upstairs there are a range of individually designed bedrooms offering single, twin and double beds to comfortably accommodate a party of up to 24. All beds have comfy bespoke pocket sprung mattresses from the UK. Via the vast sweeping staircase to the First Floor, you will find six double bedrooms hosting eleven guests, each bedroom being generously sized featuring high ceilings and huge windows.

On the Second Floor, there are five further bedrooms. Four of these are charming twin bedrooms and the fifth is a dormitory-style bedroom. This dorm sleeps five which is perfect for children.

The House and grounds are at the centre of Persie’s 1,500-acre. Venture into the mature woodlands, have a hit on the tennis court, or wander down to the Blackwater River to fish for salmon or take a dip in one of the Persie lochs.

Housekeeping

Persie’s house managers, Stephen and Carol, live in a separate flat attached to the House and are available to ensure guests’ stay is as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Light touch housekeeping will be done throughout your stay, as well as replenishment of log baskets, and re-laying of the fires once a day.

Although Persie is let on a self-catered basis, we do offer various catering options from pre-prepared meals to a fully catered service. Please enquire.

All major supermarkets will deliver to Persie.

Dogs

You are welcome to bring your dogs. There are two kennels available adjacent to the House. By prior arrangement a maximum of two well-behaved dogs are able to stay in the boot room but otherwise dogs are not permitted in the House.
